SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 2, 2014, STARTING MY FIRST BLOG
My Name is Gary LaBombard, aka (garylee) I live with my family in Greenville, SC area and I have been thinking of doing this for some time, I am not sure how many viewers will be interested but I hope those that are will receive some information that is useful to them and some humor that will also make them laugh at (ME) with me at times. I am a serious person at times in things I do until I achieve them and then make humor in trying to teach others through some humor of my mistakes which even I love to laugh at. But not at the time of learning, I am a serious bugger then. What in heck is he talking about you ask? Well hang on, I have a lot to say as some of you know and being retired have time on my hands to say a lot.
I do not know all the in’s and out’s of this Blogging stuff, this is my first day and already I fell asleep reading all the instructions of this blogging stuff I can do, so now I have to learn by my mistakes already I guess as I go. I probably fell asleep because at my age (68) we do that at times very easily you know.
I wish to categorize my entries so you will have choices to go to see things I post that do interest you and bypass those that do not interest you in the least. Not everyone is interesting, some a little, some a lot but not everyone all the time. I am in there somewhere with many, or think I am!
Some of my blogging categories will be about some of but not all of my family life, sex life is out entirely and yes even though Miley Cyrus does not think sex after 40 does not exists she has a lot to lean that the sex she has is (Rabbit Sex), right?? But I will not discuss that any more. Anyhow I am a real animal lover as you can see by my profile photo. I will talk about and show humorous photos of our family animals as they have grown up. If I use the word (I) a lot it is because I have to other way to describe what this blog is about, me, my family, my animals, my bus, my music, my busnut friends and my bucket list.
I will sometimes have political views you may agree or disagree with, man that sure has happened in the past on some bulletin boards I was a member of, especially over the existing administration and all the flubbing up of all our lives they are doing and always, always on the anniversary of (9-11) which I take a pounding on from sympathizers every year. Please do not take any offense to my political views, I am old vet, love this country and Flag we fly, love to pray in public, salute the flag, believe in protection of family and self with a gun if needed, but have no intention to infringe on anyone with my personal beliefs to upset them in any form or way. But most of my thoughts are on my loves of helping people, sharing knowledge on my hobbies, (music, bus conversions), traveling and attending rallies such as Bus Rallies. I used to Video many rallies and have posted many of these bus rallies on Youtube, (garylee1945) there is information to help encourage seniors my age to get instruments like mine and learn to play and sing music from their time era (and mine) they love to hear. I am self-taught and want them to know they can learn too.
At the moment I am still playing everyday music to keep in practice, I have self-taught myself the (boogie woogie) which I love playing for 2 hours per day. That is the happiest hours of my day, all my problems or thoughts that caused me headaches during the day all go away. I play fast, loud and make my voice hoarse as I sing my heart out singing Merle Haggard, Hank Williams, Webb Pierce, Jerry lee Lewis and many, many others. Man what a hoot and I started doing this at 51 years old. Take that Miley Cyrus and stuff it you know where you rubbed that foam finger of yours. See what I mean. Hope I made you laugh and not cringe here!!
Also at this moment of time I have worked feverishly on our bus conversion, I have worked on this project for 12 years, it will be 13 years this April 2, 2014. Yep, I know, I’m slow but I’m being as thorough as a brain surgeon believe me. I hope to never have a break down in the rest of my life concerning anything I have mechanically done to our bus. It is a 1973 Model 05 Eagle, once used by Trailways Bus Company when they were in business.
There are many busnuts, about (5,000) throughout the USA I am told that probably know of our bus, I call her (The Rustless Money Pit) and through pictures and explanations in this blog you will see the reason I reached this name. The name will one day be changed probably but not sure when or what to but we will see.
I want to continue on this blog with what I am doing up to date on my bus engine for those following me the past couple of months and I will post here previous things I have done in other files separate from my present bus engine work. This information may be confusing to those just starting to read my blog and getting to know of me and not knowing what I am talking about but just be patient and if what I am saying makes a little sense you will soon catch on to what I am all about. Not all my information will be about buses. I have as much to learn about blogging as you will have to learn about the author. He ain’t no Einstein believe me!!
To bait you a little bit into my bussin part of my blog I am posting 3 photos below, the blue bus is of a good friends, Dave & Carol Lang and their (flxible Bus) that Dave Converted to a motor home over a lengthy period and what a beautiful job he did.
This is our bus below that we purchased April 2, 2002, this is how she looked when we purchased her that day, but man she don’t look that way now and hopefully she will look and maneuver better than she did when she was born. When will that day be, only God Knows I think?? But I ‘m getting close. The original name of our bus was the Bottomless Money Pit but that name was already taken so I had to change it after I got to inspecting it and knowing that I had a bucket of rust to fix and realized this bus had sat on the bottom of the ocean right next to the (Titanic) for many years I believe!!
The bus beautiful Eagle bus below is one proudly owned by Manny & Darlene Montesino that I hope to have our bus look like one day when complete.
I just had to give you an idea what us busnut do and are about and just a taste of what one thing this blog of mine will have information about if you should be interested.
I believe this should be enough for an introduction, I hope to see you make my blog one of your favorites in due time and that none, I mean none of my comments about any of my thoughts or beliefs offends anyone ever. That is not nor ever will be my intention, life is too short, friendship is too important and always saying “I love you”goes an awful long way in making a friend feel appreciated.
